Hi, I’m Nico Schmidt.
I investigate for the European journalism network Investigate Europe, focusing on artificial intelligence, surveillance, defence and global supply chains.
My work is published in outlets such as Die Zeit, taz, Der Standard, Republik and Deutschlandfunk.
I am an AI Accountability Fellow at the Pulitzer Center and a member of the Oxford Climate Journalism Network. My reporting has been nominated multiple times for the German Reporterpreis and the European Press Prize. (↗ Download short CV)
